📘 ۱. Test (آزمون)

Definition: A formal tool used to measure students’ performance on specific language skills.

Purpose: To check mastery of textbook content like vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension.

Example (Grade 7): A multiple-choice quiz on vocabulary from Lesson 4: My Family.

Example (Grade 8): A vocabulary test from Lesson 4: My Health

Example (Grade 9): A reading comprehension test based on Lesson 2: Travel

 

📗 ۲. Assessment (ارزشیابی)

Definition: A broader process that includes tests, observations, and student work to monitor learning.

Purpose: To guide instruction and support student progress.

Types:

Formative: During learning, helps adjust teaching.

Summative: At the end of a unit or semester.

Example (Grade 7): Teacher observes students during a role-play activity from Lesson 1: Greetings.

Example (Grade 8): Students complete a writing task describing their daily routine from Lesson 2: My Week.

Example (Grade 9): Peer assessment of group presentations on Lesson 6.

📙 ۳. Evaluation (ارزیابی)

Definition: A judgment about the effectiveness of teaching methods, materials, or student outcomes.

Purpose: To improve curriculum, teaching strategies, or textbook use.

Example (Grade 7): Reviewing students’ performance across all lessons to decide if Prospect 1 meets communicative goals.

Example (Grade 8): Evaluating whether students can use English in real-life contexts after completing Prospect 2.

Example (Grade 9): Analyzing final exam results to determine if Prospect 3 supports listening skill development.

📕 ۴. Measurement (اندازه‌گیری)

Definition: Assigning numerical scores to student performance.

Purpose: To quantify learning outcomes.

Example (Grade 7): Scoring a vocabulary quiz out of 20 points.

Example (Grade 8): Giving a 15/20 on a writing task about healthy habits.

Example (Grade 9): Recording a 90% score on a final grammar test.
